What to do When a Death Occurs
When someone you love passes away it can feel overwhelming to know what to do next. Please know you do not have to navigate this alone. Our team is here to offer gentle guidance and help you take each step at your own pace.
Passing Has Occurred Under Hospice
If the death occurs at home under hospice care, the hospice nurse will assist with the next steps. Hospice contacts us when your loved one is ready to be brought into our care.
Passing has Occurred at Hospital or Care Facility
If the death occurs in a hospital or care facility, you may simply let the staff know that you would like Desert Bloom Memorial to assist your family. They will coordinate the transfer with us directly.
Passing Was Not Under Medical Supervision
If the death was unexpected, emergency services may become involved. Notify local law enforcement immediately. In some cases, the medical examiner may need to complete their review. Once your loved one is released, we will guide you through the next steps.
