Meet Erica
I’m Erica, a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer with over 20 years of experience serving families in Arizona.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside families during some of the most difficult moments in their lives. Each person, each story, and each goodbye is unique, and I believe every life deserves to be honored in a way that feels personal, meaningful, and true to them. I have worked with families from many different cultures and religions, always with the intention of creating a space that feels respectful, comforting, and genuine.
My path into this work has been shaped not only by experience, but by a desire to understand both the practical and emotional sides of loss. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Forensic Science, a Master’s in Business Administration, and certification as a Death Doula. These experiences allow me to support families with both professional guidance and a compassionate, thoughtful approach.
Desert Bloom Memorial was created from a simple idea—that families deserve a space where they feel cared for, not rushed, and gently supported through each step.
I believe in slowing things down, listening closely, and creating an environment that feels calm, warm, and intentional.
You don’t have to walk through this alone. I am here to guide you every step of the way.

Meet Melissa
As a proud Arizona native, I've always called this beautiful state of sunsets and cacti home, and I can't imagine living anywhere else. My husband and I met in 2016, married in 2021, and are blessed with two wonderful children.
Helping others has always been at the heart of everything I do. After graduating from high school, I earned my EMT certification in 2010 and spent nearly a decade serving our community in emergency medical services. That experience gave me the privilege of supporting people during some of life's most critical moments and reinforced my passion to care for others.
Wanting to continue serving families in a different way while building a long-term career, I pursued a degree in Mortuary Science and graduated in 2019 with an Associate of Mortuary Science. I then spent nearly five years as a Licensed Funeral Director in Scottsdale, Arizona, where I had the honor of guiding families through some of the most difficult times in their lives. Whether I was offering a comforting hug, listening to beloved memories, or helping navigate important decisions, I learned that kindness and connection make all the difference.
Today, as Director of Advanced Planning, my goal is to help individuals and families prepare with peace of mind. Advance planning is one of the greatest gifts you can leave your loved ones. By making your wishes known, organizing vital information, and taking care of financial arrangements in advance, you can ease both the emotional and financial burden on those you care about most.
It would be my privilege to guide you through the pre-planning process with compassion, respect, and understanding. Whenever you're ready to begin the conversation, I'm here to help every step of the way.
